Personal Experience & Biography

Rachel has focused her entire career on representing individuals involved in insurance disputes, and has particular experience litigating claims for employer-sponsored benefits.   

Rachel honed her writing skills obtaining and English Degree from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA.  After graduating and working for a while, Rachel realized she wanted to use her communication skills to advocate for peoples’ rights. This desire led Rachel to attend the Temple University Beasley School of Law, where she was a Law and Public Policy Scholar.  

Rachel is an active member of several bar associations. In 2018, Rachel was named the Mecklenburg County Bar Association Young Lawyer of the Year.  Rachel currently serves on the North Carolina Advocates for Justice Board of Governors, as well as the NCAJ’s Women’s Caucus Executive Committee and the NCAJ Education Committee.  Rachel is a graduate of the North Carolina Bar Association Leadership Academy.  Rachel has been selected to the North Carolina Rising Stars List, published in Super Lawyers Magazine for 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. Rachel has also been recognized by Best Lawyers  and Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite for her work.  Rachel is often asked to present about ERISA issues, and has spoken at events organized by the American Association for Justice, North Carolina Advocates for Justice, and the Mecklenburg County Bar.   

In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, young children and their dog.
